Requirements Making complex information accessible in a smart way
In order to provide customers with prompt and well-informed advice, the consultants at structural component specialist Schöck require efficient access to technical knowledge. This includes comprehensive product catalogues, technical documentation and other specialist information. These must also be cross-referenced with ISO certificates, standards and safety manuals.
Against this backdrop, the requirement was to develop a high-performance AI solution that intelligently analyses large, heterogeneous data sets and makes them usable for day-to-day operations.
The focus was on integrating different knowledge sources, optimising the database for various use cases, and evaluating modern AI technologies such as Business GPT.
Solution Expert assistant to support the consultants
Telekom MMS supported Schöck both in designing a future-proof AI strategy and in integrating Business GPT as a central platform for generative AI and AI-supported knowledge management into existing business processes.
Deutsche Telekom’s AI application exemplifies the secure use of generative AI in enterprises. The SaaS solution, based on Microsoft Azure, utilises powerful Azure OpenAI models and provides Schöck’s employees with centralised access to company-specific knowledge via an intuitive chat interface.
To this end, extensive specialist information, product catalogues, safety data sheets, standards and other technical documentation were integrated into knowledge spaces and organised in a structured manner.
The AI-powered knowledge assistant supports consultants in researching, analysing and linking complex information. For example, the assistant can identify suitable solutions for a specific region or a particular product, consolidate relevant information from various sources and present the results in a defined response format. The response logic is based on Schöck’s established consultancy processes and ensures a high level of technical and qualitative consistency.
Role-based access concepts and single sign-on via Microsoft Entra ID ensure secure and convenient operation.
Beyond the technical implementation, Telekom MMS supported Schöck with the functional and organisational roll-out of the solution. This included the design of suitable prompt strategies and response logic, as well as a train-the-trainer programme, which enabled selected key users to firmly establish the use of Business GPT within the company.
A service management team is available to provide the necessary support services to ensure the long-term operation of the solution.
Benefits Find and apply complex information more quickly
Schöck now has a scalable, secure and practical AI assistance solution that provides technical content in a structured manner. Business GPT supports employees’ day-to-day work and adds value to consultancy, knowledge management and decision-making processes.
The solution is operated in a secure corporate environment and meets high standards of data protection, security and compliance through data storage in Europe.
The AI knowledge assistant that has been developed enables Schöck’s consultants to access complex specialist information far more efficiently. Large data sets – ranging from product catalogues and standards to technical documentation – can be searched in a structured manner and utilised in context. By intelligently linking different knowledge sources, information is made available in seconds, connections are presented transparently and well-founded analyses are supported.
This not only improves the quality of the results but also significantly reduces the time spent on research and evaluation. At the same time, employees are empowered to use generative AI in a targeted manner in their day-to-day work, thereby building up sound AI expertise within the company.
Thanks to the flexible and scalable platform, Schöck can expand the solution to cover further use cases and ensure that corporate knowledge can be utilised efficiently in the long term. At the same time, the specialist departments retain control over their data and its use.
